Welcome to a special weekly update from PREreview.org recapping our work so far in 2024!

What’s new at PREreview?

We’ve done a lot already this year thanks to ongoing feedback from our wonderful community members.

  • We launched a new ORCID integration that allows PREreviewers to have their public PREreview activity written to the peer review section of their ORCID profiles.
  • We automated the process for adding multiple authors to collaborative PREreviews.
  • We added filtering by language (English, Portuguese, and Spanish) and OpenAlex fields for published PREreviews and requests for review.
  • We added title and author search for published PREreviews.
  • We improved the structure of requests for review on our Slack community to surface the most relevant information for PREreviewers seeking for preprints to review.
  • We improved tagging on requests for review, using subfields from OpenAlex, to help PREreviewers find relevant preprints to review.

Community members have also started several new PREreview Clubs.

And, of course, we’re thrilled and grateful to have been awarded new funding to continue our community-led product work in the future.

What’s next?

In addition to developing and sharing a public data dashboard in the near future, we’ll be undertaking new localization and translation work on the site, optimizing the site for new audiences, and investigating how to review other early research outputs (such as code and computational notebooks) on PREreview.org.

The second half of 2024 should be a great one for PREreview! Thank you for being a part of our community and for all your contributions to open peer review.
