Welcome to the return of the weeknote from the Product team at PREreview.org!
What’s new at PREreview?
We have been busy since September!
In addition to analyzing all the feedback we got from our fantastic community members about upcoming localization and translation work into Brazilian Portuguese and latin American Spanish, we’ve been:
- Improving our codebase.
- Updating bits and pieces of our How to use Prereview page.
- Making it easier for users to play around with new features on our sandbox site.
- Welcoming several new PREreview Clubs.
- Planning for 2025.
- Celebrating some very cool milestones: we’ve recently reached 1000 PREreviews, 3000 registered users, and 28 clubs!
We’ve also just launched our new commenting feature on PREreview.org! Now you can leave an author response or engage in conversation with our reviewers by commenting at the bottom of any published PREreview. Try it out and let us know how it goes!
What’s next?
We’ll be tackling a bunch of pick-up work before year’s end and continuing our localization and translation work with the intent to launch our first, key, community-prioritized portions of the site in Brazilian Portuguese and Latin American Spanish in the first half of 2025.
We’re also exploring ways to improve how people find preprints to review, including improvements to filtering, labeling, and matchmaking on PREreview.org and the community Slack.
Let us know what you think
Remember, you can set up a user research interview with Head of Product Chad Sansing to share your experiences with PREreview.org. Click here to sign up for a chat. If you can’t find an available appointment time that fits your schedule, please email Chad to arrange a call. Whenever possible, we compensate interviewees.
We also have a #community-feedback channel on our community Slack if you’d prefer to share there.
