At PREreview we are guided by our mission and propelled by our vision for an open, community-driven scholarly communication future where everyone is empowered to contribute to constructive evaluation of research outputs.

The scholarly communication ecosystem is evolving but there’s still so much more that can be done. Scholarly evaluation so often still happens behind closed doors, by untrained reviewers who are often selected through personal connections and subjective criteria, who themselves are unpaid and unrecognized for the important work they do. We want to change this.

“We're now for the first time seeking direct support from individuals. While philanthropy has been our main funding source, relying solely on this model isn't sustainable. We aim to shift the control of scholarly communication from a few to the many, and your donation helps us achieve this goal. Thank you!”–Daniela Saderi, PREreview Co-founder and Director

There are many ways to chip in. You can make a one-time donation or become a monthly or quarterly donor using our secure online donation box. We know that times are difficult and any amount is greatly appreciated.

If you are not able to make a monetary donation, you can also support us in-kind by sharing this blog post with your community, providing valuable feedback to a research manuscript, or sharing your stories and experiences with PREreview and preprint peer review more generally. Email us at, join us on Slack, and stay up-to-date with opportunities to contribute by signing up to our newsletter.

PREreview is a sponsored project of Code for Science & Society. Code for Science and Society is a registered US 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law in the US. Tax ID 81-3791683.
