What’s new at PREreview?

This week we’re excited to share our second matchmaking experiment with all of you. You can now visit https://matchmaking-survey.prereview.org/ to try it out for yourself.

This version of our matchmaking work, which is still under development (with ongoing feedback from community members like you), “reads” the published works in your ORCID profile. Then it uses an algorithm we’re testing to suggest new preprints for review based on your research interests. Those preprints come from many servers we support. The final matchmaking product will consider even more preprints, including those with requests for review on PREreview.org.

We’d love to have your help improving this work. If you’re able to check it please do. You’ll be able to rate the relevancy of each preprint we suggest. All feedback is welcome. We need to know which suggestions are good fits and which ones are not. If you have more comments to share or any questions about the experiment itself, you can always email us at help@prereview.org.

We’re also onboarding a whole bunch of new PREreview Clubs ahead of our Review-a-thon. If you’d like to participate, you can check out this list of Clubs open to new members and join one ahead of the event, which runs during Peer Review Week (14-18 September, 2026).

What’s next?

Last week, we turned on our African French translation of the website. In the next few weeks, we’ll also add Modern Standard Arabic to PREreview.org. As a reminder, you can help review our translations and suggest even better ones by creating a Crowdin account, joining the PREreview project there, and reviewing the translated strings (or blocks of text) in the language you’d like to help support, including Brazilian Portuguese, Latin American Spanish, African French, and (soon!) Modern Standard Arabic. You can work through the Crowdin web interface or try suggesting changes on translate.prereview.org which offers a visual editor of the site.

💌 Many thanks to all of our language leads and other community volunteers making contributions and suggestions to improve our multilingual work at PREreview!
