The PREreview Team is very excited to welcome Chad Sansing as the new Product Manager! In this new role, Chad will be managing the new PREreview preprint platform development and design, working across teams at the intersection between technology, design, partnership and community engagement.
Over the past 18 months, we have been working with eLife and Sciety to build resources, workshops, and infrastructure to support a growing community of preprint reviewers. Chad joins our team to help us strengthen this collaboration, and develop a version of the PREreview preprint review platform that can better support community engagement and growth, easy third-party site integration, and long-term sustainability within the context of a rapidly-evolving ecosystem.
Chad joins PREreview after working at the Mozilla Foundation where he contributed to a variety of initiatives including Mozilla’s Web Literacy curriculum, the Open Leaders program, MozFest, and the MozFest Trustworthy AI Working Group.
Daniela, PREreview Director, says,
The birth of PREreview can be traced back to Mozilla in so many ways. Our leadership team met because of Mozilla, and our project grew building on the lessons learned together with a global community of Open Leaders that Mozilla—and Chad—helped build and supported through the years. We are so honored to welcome Chad to our team! I am positive that Chad will help us and our collaboration with eLife and Sciety further our shared commitment to fostering a rich ecosystem of preprint review, centering the needs and expectations of our communities.
Chad's knowledge and extensive experience in building community and centering community needs will be invaluable to our team and contribute immensely to the success of our mission.
Chad says,
I am so excited to start my new role as Product Manager at PREreview. I am thankful for this amazing opportunity to work alongside the open science community in furthering such an empowering, community-driven platform focused on researchers’ needs and better science for all.
Please join us in welcoming Chad to the open preprint review community!
