Thank you for checking out the latest platform update from PREreview.org!
What’s new at PREreview?
Over the past several weeks, we’ve been developing an internal data dashboard to make it easier for us to understand how PREreviewers are using the site and what kind of impact we’re having in the open, peer preprint review space. Soon, we’ll be inviting feedback from community members like you about what we should include in a public-facing version of that data dashboard. If you have any ideas right now, please feel welcome to share them with us by email or on the #community-feedback channel of our Slack.
We also just teamed up with Arcadia Science to support foreviewing “Pubs” on PREreview. Pubs can be preprints, but also smaller or more modular early research outputs such as research questions, data sets, or even negative data. While we are still working out some metadata details on the backend, you can now review Pubs on PREreview.org by using their DOIs. We are especially excited about this development because one of our goals for 2024 is to explore how we can help PREreviewers review other early research outputs apart from, within, and around preprints to give specific, constructive feedback on research whenever an author or researcher might need it most in the beginning of an experiment, a project, or a publication. Later in the year, we’ll be gathering feedback about what you’d like to review, in addition to PREprints, as well.
We also started a PREreview Clubs page for Live Reviews done in collaboration with JMIR. The club seeks to expand JMIR’s innovative peer review offerings through things like topic-centered, interactive preprint review calls facilitated through video conferencing. Check it out and consider joining the club or one of its Live Review calls soon!
What’s next?
We are right in the middle of some user research about how best to conduct community design sprint calls around localization and translation, beginning with work on Portuguese and Spanish. Expect more news about those design sprints and other ways to give feedback soon.

Remember, you can set up a user research interview with Head of Product Chad Sansing, to share your experiences with and feedback about our website. Click here to sign up for a chat. If you can’t find an available appointment time that fits your schedule, please email Chad to arrange a call. Whenever possible, we compensate interviewees.
The #community-feedback channel of our community Slack is open for feedback, too.
